Yes! I'm 20 and it's my first time on the beach

There's always a first time for everything right? It's funny how I've lived close to 21 years on this earth and just last weekend was the first time I visited the beach. Oh yeah, I can only imagine what's going through your mind right now. The thing is, for the most part of my life, I stayed in Abuja, Nigeria and there are no beaches in that city. But luckily, I had the opportunity to stay with my cousin in Lagos this year and that was already a sign for me because there are several beaches in Lagos.

I had stayed in Lagos for close to seven months now and I still had not visited the beach. What! How could I have misused this opportunity? Alright, let me calm down a bit and explain (I'm sure literally everyone knows this already but I'll still explain regardless). We are currently going through a pandemic and it hadn't been too long that businesses and recreational centres started opening up in my country. But I had to act fast though, because schools will definitely start opening up as well and once I get to school, no more beach plans for me. If you ask me why I was so psyched about the beach, I really don't have any explanation to give you. I've just always wanted to go to the beach. That's not strange, right?

Anyways, to cut the long story short. My friends and I made plans and we finally visited the beach despite all odds. Boy! I was so excited, but you know, I just tried to keep my cool and act normal. Inside my head, I was doing whatever dance it is that's reigning these days. The highlight of the day for me was when the beach water came in contact with my leg. Whoosh! I can't even describe the feeling but I know I felt quite dizzy. Oh yeah! My friends and I had to dodge the horses too. Phew! That was another struggle entirely.

Unfortunately, the pictures I took didn't really pass the cut for me *displays sad puppy face* because I really wanted it to be a sunny day, so I could take some sun kissed pics, you know (wink, wink). But It wasn't sunny at all mehn, it was cloudy and it even drizzled. Ugh! So annoying. Well overall, I enjoyed my first day at the beach and I'm already anticipating my next visit, haha. Don't worry, you guys will be the first to see my pictures next time I go to the beach on a sunny day (emphasis on the sunny day, lol).

Please tell me about your first experience on the beach, I would love to know. You can summarize it in the comments. Thanks for reading once again.

Till I write again,

Love and light,

Tekena.
